Let us be honest about what we are looking at. Armaf launched Club de Nuit Intense Man in 2015 as an explicit interpretation of Creed Aventus (2010). The formula is not identical — Armaf's version is slightly smokier in the opening and drier in the base — but the DNA overlap is undeniable. Note by note
Opening (0 – 15 min): smoky pineapple & blackcurrant
The signature Aventus-DNA opening — pineapple, blackcurrant, apple, birch — hits within 30 seconds. Armaf's version is slightly more "candied" in the pineapple and slightly smokier in the birch. In Joburg dry heat this opening projects at least a metre.
Heart (15 min – 3 hours): birch, rose, jasmine
The heart is where Club de Nuit shows its real chemistry. Birch smoke sits at the centre, wrapped in soft jasmine and a whisper of rose. This is not floral in a feminine sense — it is what stops the composition from being too aggressive.
Dry-down (3 – 10+ hours): musk, ambergris, oakmoss, patchouli
The dry-down is drier and mossier than Aventus's — closer to a modern chypre than the original's clean musk finish. On fabric it lasts genuinely 15+ hours.
