Boozy and tropical from the outset. Rum opens it with a warm, slightly sharp alcoholic sweetness, and plum lands right alongside, dark and jammy, giving the first minutes a richness that most summer fragrances avoid. It is a more interesting start than the marketing suggests. The heart brings tuberose, creamy and heady and unmistakably white-floral, softened considerably by coconut, which shifts the whole thing toward something suntan-adjacent and lactonic. The base is vanilla, praline and musk: sweet, powdery, comfortable, and where the fragrance settles for the long haul. The overall impression is a coconut-vanilla dessert with a floral spine and a shot of rum in it.

There is no established designer or niche counterpart for Petra. Lattafa launched it in 2025 with a Mediterranean theme, and while it lives in the same broad territory as the coconut-vanilla fragrances that have dominated the last few years, no consistent dupe claim has emerged from the community. That is worth stating plainly, because a lot of retail copy in this category invents comparisons. Judge it on its own terms.

It suits warm weather and casual wear. Beach days, summer evenings, holidays, the sort of scent that works over sun-warmed skin at a coastal December lunch. It is listed as unisex and the rum and tuberose give it enough backbone to support that, though the coconut-praline sweetness pushes it feminine in most people's reading. Not an office scent, and heavy enough that a small enclosed room is the wrong setting.

Performance is moderate to good rather than exceptional. Six to eight hours is the typical report, with the first two to three hours carrying most of the projection before it draws into a warm skin scent that persists well. Three sprays is a sensible dose given how sweet it is. Its 3.93 average across roughly 1,470 Fragrantica ratings is decent but not emphatic, and the split usually comes down to tuberose, which divides people sharply. If you already know you enjoy creamy white florals over gourmand bases, this is a very cheap way to own one. If tuberose has never worked on you, it will not start here.
