Gardenia leads, creamy and full, with bergamot and citrus lifting the first few minutes into something bright rather than heavy. The heart is a straightforward, well-built floral bouquet: carnation adds a spicy clove-like warmth, rose gives structure, jasmine adds richness. What makes it unusual is the base, where apricot and peach bring a soft fruity roundness, sandalwood adds creaminess and vanilla finishes it with gentle sweetness. The overall shape is closer to 1990s designer perfumery than to anything currently in fashion, meaning floral, feminine and softly fruity without a gourmand or fresh-clean angle anywhere in it.

It is not built on a designer original. Innocence is a Rasasi house composition and one of the older entries in their women's range, which explains both its classical structure and how little discussion it generates online. That is the main caveat here: only 66 Fragrantica users have rated it, at 3.89 out of 5, so community data is thin and individual experience may vary more than usual.

Performance is moderate at five to seven hours, the projection turning soft after the opening hour, which suits its character. This is not a fragrance designed to fill a room and it does not try to.

It suits women who like traditional florals and find current releases either too sweet or too sharp. Daytime wear, family lunches, work in a conservative environment, spring and autumn rather than deep summer. It also makes a reasonable gift for an older recipient who wore designer florals in the nineties and has never found anything comparable since. If what you want is loud, contemporary or trend-driven, look elsewhere in the Rasasi range, since Hawas and the Al Wisam pair are far more widely discussed and far easier to research before buying. Taken on its own terms, though, it is competently built and pleasant, and the gardenia in the opening is better than the price would suggest, which is often where these older house compositions quietly outperform expectations.
