Roja Danger Pour Homme Parfum
Danger Pour Homme dates from 2011, the year Roja Dove established his own house in Mayfair after nearly two decades at Guerlain and seven years running the Haute Parfumerie he had opened at Harrods in 2004. It belongs to the first wave of Roja releases, and it is a fougère, the classic barbershop structure of lavender, herbs, moss and coumarin, built at parfum strength with almost none of the softening the genre has undergone since.
The honest caveat first. Danger Pour Homme is not listed in Roja's current online collection, which still carries Danger Pour Femme. Bottles circulate through specialists rather than the house's own shop, so if you find one it is worth checking packaging and batch details carefully before committing.
The fragrance itself is bracing. Lavender, lemon and tarragon open it, with a cumin note underneath that is unmistakable and divides opinion sharply, reading as warm skin to some wearers and as something less flattering to others. The heart is violet, jasmine and muguet, cool and green and quite formal in the old way. What really sets it apart is the base: castoreum, oakmoss, patchouli, leather, ambergris, cloves and tonka bean, the sort of animalic mossy floor almost nobody builds any more because the materials are restricted, expensive or both.
The result is old-fashioned in the best sense. It is a fragrance for a jacket and a cold evening, a Cape winter or a Highveld night in July. It would be a mistake in summer heat, where the cumin and castoreum amplify uncomfortably fast.
At parfum concentration the performance is emphatic. Ten to twelve hours on skin, days on fabric, and real projection through the first several hours. One spray is the correct starting dose. Because the fragrance is no longer in general distribution, treat any description of it, including this one, as an account of the composition as documented rather than a guarantee about the specific bottle in front of you.

AI Review Summary
Synthesised from fragrance data
Roja Danger Pour Homme Parfum is the kind of scent that commands a room before you've even said a word. It opens with a sharp, aromatic burst of lavender, mint, and bergamot before settling into a brooding leather and rose heart that feels genuinely grown-up and uncompromising. The base is where it truly earns its keep — oakmoss, vetiver, and ambergris create a smoky, animalic depth that lingers on skin for hours. Given its strong sillage and remarkable longevity, a little goes a long way, so save this one for cool autumn evenings or formal occasions where you want to leave a lasting impression. Best suited to confident men who aren't afraid of a fragrance with real presence and character.
