My Way was Giorgio Armani's first major women's launch in years when it arrived in 2020, and the brief was as much about supply chains as about smell. Armani built it around named origins and made the bottle refillable, a decision that looks ordinary now and did not then. The house describes it as a long-lasting women's floral perfume inspired by discovery and connection, created for the woman ready to broaden her horizons with fragrance ingredients from around the world.

The sourcing is the story Armani tells first: orange blossom from Egypt, tuberose handpicked in Mysore in India, and vanilla sourced to support communities in Madagascar. The published structure is Calabrian bergamot and Egyptian orange blossom at the top, tuberose and Indian jasmine at the heart, and Virginian cedarwood, Madagascan vanilla and white musks in the base. Armani files it as floral woody, bright and radiant.

On skin it is a white floral deliberately sanded smooth. The orange blossom opening is clean and slightly soapy, the tuberose is the modern kind, creamy and without the green rubbery bite of the raw absolute, and the jasmine widens it rather than adding indole. The base does the real work, where vanilla and white musk together produce a warm laundered skin-like finish while the cedar keeps a dry line running through so the sweetness never fully settles. It is polished rather than complex, and that is plainly the intent.

It suits daytime and the office better than a long night out, and it is easier to wear in warm weather than most tuberose fragrances because the composition is airy. On a humid coastal evening it stays soft instead of turning cloying. Younger wearers gravitate to it, and it is not an old-fashioned white floral in any sense.

Armani does not credit a perfumer by name on the product page. Performance is good for the style, running six to eight hours, with a moderate cloud in the first hour and a close musky drydown afterwards. The refills are the practical argument for it: this was designed to be worn daily and topped up rather than saved for occasions. If you want a white floral with sharp edges, look elsewhere. If you want one that will not trouble anybody in a lift, it is among the best-made options at its level.
