Underneath, amber, cashmeran, labdanum and leather build a dense, slightly animalic base that turns musky and skin-close over the following hours. The combination is unusual for the price bracket, and it does not smell like anything else in Lattafa's masculine range.

On clone claims, the honest answer is that there is not a well-established one. Within the Fakhar family it is Fakhar Black that the community routinely nominates as a YSL Y EDP alternative; Extrait goes in a different direction entirely, and no consistent designer counterpart has emerged for it. If you are shopping for a specific dupe, this is not the bottle. If you are shopping for something distinctive that does not smell like every other fragrance in the room, it has a real case.

It suits evenings and cooler months, though the grapefruit and solar notes give it enough lift for spring. Dinners, dates, a night out, a Cape winter evening where the leather and amber have room to develop. It is marketed to men and the leather base supports that, but the tuberose makes it genuinely wearable by anyone who is comfortable with a white floral in a masculine frame.

Performance is a strong point. Reviewers commonly report ten hours or more with a noticeable but not overwhelming trail, and the amber-cashmeran base is what carries it through the back half of the day. Two to three sprays is enough.
