Miu Miu
Miu Miu began in 1993 as Miuccia Prada’s second label — named after her own childhood nickname — and built its reputation on being the playful, slightly rebellious sister to Prada’s severity. The fragrance side arrived much later, with the first Miu Miu scent in 2015, and today sits under L’Oréal’s licence. The bottles carry the label’s design signatures straight across from the clothes: matelassé quilting lifted from its leather bags, and colour choices that nod to the sequins the brand is known for.
Signature Style
Soft, young and a little sweet, without tipping into a teenage fragrance. Miu Miu’s scents tend to work around milky, creamy and lightly fruity ideas — osmanthus, coconut milk, mango, lily of the valley — with a polish that comes from working with serious perfumers rather than trend chasers. The house perfumer behind much of the range is Daniela Andrier, the nose responsible for a large part of Prada’s catalogue including the Infusion d’Iris line.

Did You Know?
Fleur de Lait was inspired by Mango Pomelo Sago, a Hong Kong dessert of ripe mango, citrus and coconut milk.
| The opaque milky-white bottle wears Miu Miu’s matelassé quilting, borrowed directly from its leather handbags, and the pale-blue cap references the label’s famous sequins.
| Fleur de Lait is credited to Daniela Andrier by nssgclub and vivir.com, though the credit is not confirmed on Miu Miu’s own page.
| Despite the online noise, Miu Miu fragrance has no mainstream South African retail distribution at all.
